The main problem I have with my G is that it gives the travelling itch!
We used to travel around Africa alone with the wife. Now that we have the little one, I am a little more cautious. I look at the advertised group travel in the 4x4 magazines. I thought it could be a good option to safely enjoy the journey. We are not camping pros yet. We are looking at trips between Namibia; Botswana and South Africa. I was hoping to go to Kenya in December 2017 but it seems compromised.
I really enjoyed the camaraderie at the last AGM and I am already planning to participate to the Club's outings.
What are you thoughts of travelling alone or in a commercial group?

We have done 4 trips with orginised tour operators and all of them were fabulous. Some trips (like Namib dune trips) you have to make use of a concession holder and then these tour operators. The main benefit is they usually supply the meals and that makes your travelling and camping so much lighter and easier. Also the benifit to have a guide who knows the area and people and can also assist in case of trouble. The main draw back is the price, it cost much more.......
