Hello Moggie Fans, I have a SDP Pinzgauer 716M 1993 model ex Malaysian Military for sale in Cape Town. Now she isn't a Mog but is regarded by many as the Baby Mog and I imported her as a Collectors Vehicle in 2012 intending to convert her. Well that plan went by the board and apart from some minor modifications, namely using Audi air bags for rear suspension and manual diff lock actuators she is stock.
She is for sale as is, fully documented, registered BUT with a clutch problem, no pressure in the pedal. I am moving and will not have space for her. I have all the User/Maintenance and Parts Manuals on disc and as a very well built Austrian military vehicle she is easy to work on. Parts are common with many VW bits, being a 2.5 TDi engine with manual gearbox.
I could go on but look up Pinzgauer 716 on You Tube and see how versatile and capable these little devils are.
I need sell her a good home so am not looking at list price, over ZAR400,000 plus import taxes. I will accept offers in region of ZAR 200,000 +/- but purchaser will need collect.

Would've loved to see some pics. If I'm not mistaken this is the newer type of Pinz with the turbo diesel VW engine. Apparently they're day and night difference compared to the older air cooled versions. I wasn't aware that there is one of the newer ones in SA.

Was not looking for a Pinz but one seems to have found it's way into my driveway. Advertised briefly and standing just 5km from me I had to go look. That was it. Borrowed and stole what I had to to make it happen.

It needs quite a bit of love, but I think the fundamentals are good. Instruments and switches most been swiped. For now it does start and drive and things appear to be lubricated. Seller said it has under 20k km from new but now theres no instrument to show it.

Look forward to it and will appreciate advice and pointers for sourcing 24v specific instruments or perhaps making 12v ones work.

I'll see what vdo here has available after payday... Thanks for that Samil idea. Could be useful. The tachograph is insanely priced overseas and not an option. I'll make a list after better inspection of everything. I think it has electric button activated vacuum actuator 4wd and difflock selection. Sure to find a 716 manual soon. Have 710 and 712 earlier version Pinz manual which had hydraulic actuators I suspect. The buttons are missing and the control. I'm sure this can be made up or sourced. Diesel interior heater sadly also missing. Seen one such unit advertised in Italybut not a priority. Early days.
