I have started today with my 280 mechanical fix up (with the help of a local mechanic at my place as I am clueless!)
List of whats done and advise needed in bold

Got it to start, which is a good start .....(replaced fuel pump)
Lot of dirt coming out of the old pump so removed fuel tank - to be cleaned
Guard/ holding plate to be treated and repainted
Removed aircon pump - Bearing is gone, no gas in
Any suggestion on where to send for test of compressor and overhaul?
Dipstick needs to be replaced, been fixed a couple of times
Difflock levers do not want to move, no fluid in reservoir
Do one get a master silinder service kit for this?
Links to gearbox - reverse shift broken - will weld for interim but would like to replace as well as bushes on all other shifts
Will try Trevor for shift
Any suggestions on where to get the bushes?
Lot of the the wires are brittle and will continuously be replacing

Any input or suggestions or advise will be highly appreciated

Well done Cornel, good start.
Most parts will be available at MB but many you will find elsewhere like Trevor...
Aircon most probably you need to go to an aircon place and even then I'm not sure they can test it.
I would just remove the difflock masters and strip them down. Possibly they are corroded but maybe you are lucky. Let them soak in some paraffin/diesel or similar.
Once stripped you can try your local spares shop for seals or go to a more specialized spares shop.

BTW, which G is this ? The red one?
