GCW is surprisingly not a technical derived specification but is subject to the jurisdiction where you are - so in Germany its probably 6700 kg however in RSA it may / may not be different . Its related to Tare/ GVM and the type of trailer

According to my understanding, the law says the rated GVM of your trailer may not exceed the tare weight of the towing vehicle. In other words, the legally registered gross vehicle mass (tare + max load) of your trailer (whether or not you are carrying the full allowed load) cannot exceed the tare weight of the tow vehicle. This means most cars can't legally tow a car trailer (even an empty one).

So your G say has a Tare 2400 kg , Trailer max is 2400 , G's GVM 3300 kg - total GCM 5700kg. I don't think a G here will legally have a GCM of 6700kg in RSA ( except perhaps the 6x6) . Most drivers licence further are now issued with code B which only allows a Trailer max of 750 kg
You can still get the EB license you just need to pass the test with a trailer

Except if the trailer is equipped with a braking system (not overrun brakes, but air/hyraulic braking system that works off the towing vehicle's braking system - same type as used by big trucks), then you can tow a trailer with a GVW heavier than the towing vehicle's tare weight, on condition that the vehicle/trailer combination remains within towing vehicle's GCM (gross combined mass).
