Paul Venter and myself are arranging a joint weekend between the G & Unimog Club. The venue will be on a farm in the greater Marakele area close to Vaalwater, weekend of 17-19 February 2017.

The idea here is to get the G's and their Big brothers together for one unforgettable weekend!

Accommodation will camping in an unfenced Big 5 area - very rustic - there are no services whatsoever available. You will have to completely self sufficient. Please take note: there are no fences; water or any other form of luxury.

Due to the size of the camping area we have to limit the amount of vehicles that will be able to attend - max 10 vehicles.

Please confirm your interest here and we'll get the ball rolling.

Eish, I was about to put my name down and checked the dates. That weekend I am already booked.
If only it were a weekend or two later or earlier. The G calendar did say 3-5 February.:(
That will be one not to miss.

Awesome. I'm in. Should probably check with a Zelda and the kids if there's anything on that's not in my diary yet though

NJ, just a question.
10 vehicles are allowed I hope that excludes trailers. The G's are a bit smaller than the big brothers and hence I suspect many here will tow.

Hi Alan

The restriction on number of vehicles is due to the small size of the two areas I plan to camp. Trailers are welcome. It may require a bit of tight maneuvering but nothing impossible ;-)

The tracks we'll be driving on are not very challenging from a 4x4 perspective, so easily doable with a trailer. Things will get shaken up a bit as its mostly rocky mountainous terrain, but nothing that will damage vehicles or trailers.

I scouted the routes over the weekend and even the moggies will be able to get through on the tracks without damaging the trees (no "trail maintenance" necessary this time around Riaan) ;-)

Ok - so far the names we have as confirmed are:

Riaan
Antony
Theo
Alan & Karien
Pieter & Esther
Tony & Sharon
Paul
Carlo and Susan Grobler
SJ v d Merwe
Chris de Villiers

NJ - I assumed you're joining as well, but I don't see your name on the list - should we add you?

The above adds up to 10 vehicles (with NJ it would be 11).

I'm unfortunately going to have to cap the numbers here, but if there are more people interested I'll start a waiting list. If any of the confirmed people can't make it, we'll allow people on the waiting list on a first come first served basis.

Earlier today I received a mail from another moggie (technically he'll be coming with his Samil 20 camper, but he does own a moggie too), so the waiting list already has one name:
Theron Hugo
