The Engine Oil overheats, the O-Rings on the Cam chain perish and according to the Mechanics that is where it all starts. MB first fitted bigger Sumps and then changed to a high Spec Oil but the Problem persisted. Ten they had the Campaign with the Cooler. Mine did 65000 km before she expired.
Obviously no Namibia / Death Valley / Artic trials were done like they used to do in the old days. Modelling software failed miserably. I see the later G300 has even more power , ho w did they fix the problem ? And why not bluetech?
I got the 2017 G350 after endless issues with Jeeps and Landies. 2013 Jeep WK2 blew a radiator December in the middle of nowhere with my family in the car. I am going to be devastated if I spent all that money on something that also breaks
Can anyone check if a certain vehicle had the recall done without looking for oil cooler ..
A friend is looking at buying a 350Bluetec in the UK. It's a 2011 model and there dealers tell him they don't know of any recall.
He quoted SM 1003/1204P01A81 Check engine oil capacity and modify to them.
