If it is G's you want to see, visit Cape Town's supposed "Atlantic Seaboard." (All of it is Atlantic; apparently Capetonians don't know yet.) But, frequenting Green Point to Hout Bay is where herds of G63AMG graze, rumbling in the jungle. Ones repainted in all kinds of fuzzy colours, and with wheels that will never go north of the Boerewors Curtain, either. It takes three differential locks to brave the speed bumps of the V&A Waterfront, and low range to ascend Lion's Head, apparently. The hunt is open, now that you know where to look for your next G sighting.

Hi

It's a 230GE.
The logo had something to do with Roses.

Cheers

There's one collecting dust and its wiring likely getting eaten by rats, on a farm near the Nuweveldberge. Cruelty to dinosaurs.

....at least it seems to make more sense there than in the streets of Munich

And I never understood how München, ending on a N, could become Munich. Anglophones pervert names in a peculiar fashion indeed.

Indeed. Like Calcutta, Rangoon, Peking, Silkaatsnek and Kwakwa.
Dibeng became Deben
Kgalagadi became Kalahari
Köln became Cologne
Garage became garrich
They cannot pronounce Worcester
One problem is that English is not a phonetic language, and native speakers don't really have guidelines, but are taught to indigenise words, rubber stamp it and, henceforth, only they are correct.
I never had the opportunity to study how English really developed, other than originating from Norway and Denmark, as that is where the Anglese emigrated from. Strange, then, how Scouse differs from RP or SSB, despite the fact that the Scousers came from the same parts of Scandinavia. Yet I stand corrected.

French was the lingua franca of Britain for 300-odd years, and that would have left influences.

Ye olde is actually 'the olde,' as that funny Y really is a now defunct character called a thorn, and is pronounced with the typical th sound.

Darlingmost Wificle spotted an off-white G63AMG sans registration plates in Bo-Kaap this morning. Some very lucky person is getting a nice Christmas it would seem. Welcome to Cape Town indeed.
