How often do you replace oil & filters on your diesel mog?

Hi All

A quick question - what oil change intervals do you guys use on your (non turbo) diesel mogs?

I'm currently changing it every 5 000km simply out of habit as that is the service interval on my cruiser... Since I do around 5 000km per year in the mog, it also works out to at least one oil change per year

A second question - do you base the oil change intervals on km's or on the hour meter? I suppose the hour meter may be a better guide as it takes into account how hard the engine was working (I have no idea how the hour meter works, but have noticed that it seems to be connected to the engin RPM rather than a simple linear timer).

Hi Paul.

Yes you are right. service interval on a Mog is 5000 Km. You are running on mineral oils , with all the head and monograde oil ,,,, not to good! I will keep it on 5000 km intervals.We do on the New U4000 mog service every 1200 hours, BUT running on full synthetic oils that gives you plus minus km30 000.

I will sent you a service sheet if needed.

If I had to wait 1200 hour on the 411 to change oil, I will do it once every 12 year as I do about 100 hour a year... ish
