Lesotho Outing 16th June 2011 Report

    Dear G fellows,
Just got back from a fantastic marvelous outing in the Lesotho Kingdom. You missed a really spectacular scenario of SNOW, ICE, SUNNY WEATHER and GREAT COMPANY!
I will repeat this trip on either on the 8th of July or on the 29th of July, depending on the interest of the G-Club members. I hope to make it a G-Outing and get some interest from you all.

    Here is just a Teaser!!!!!!

    That is ahem - cool!

I see you are still using your trusty old mule - waiting for the horse?

Andrew, the "horse" will be in end of this week and I will have my "Horse" for the next Lesotho outing.
BTW: "Muffetta" is not a "Mule" but a "Lesotho-Pony" ..... don't insult the old girl!

    Hi Michel
What was your route - any problems with the locals? Have always enjoyed Lesotho , not sure of the friendliness of the locals anymore - any comments?

Peter, we went in through Calendonspoort instead of Peka, due to time factor (border at Peka closes at 4 pm) at the border people very friendly and very efficient. Throughout our stay going through Buta-Bute Leribe Taba-Butsiu Roma to Ramabanta we had absolutely no problems. Going in to the mountain to Semonkong and Lipamaleng people are very friendly and very hospitable. The whole attitude of the Lesotho people have changed drastically towards the tourists, Ashley Thorn, has done a lot of PR to make understand that tourism is the "Big" income for Lesotho! I was very impressed!

Zimmy - any chance of changing the dates to the weekend of the 22nd? I've basically commited to that weekend for my Lesotho trip. It will be great to join you though!

    Regards,

    Arnold
