Exclamation AAWDC Inter Club Day Competition

Hello all! It is almost that time of the year again!

The AAWDC is having it's Inter Club day in August. What we have heard do far:

9 th July allocation of areas to build obstacle by Clubs

16 and 23rd July Building of obstacles

30th July till 11:00 Build obstacle thereafter scrutinizing

6th August lockdown (obstacle must be finished and fixed depending on the scrutinizing that happened)

    13th August Competition between Clubs

What we need is 10 persons per team (5 vehicles), we could enter more than one team if there are sufficient participants.

We need marshals for the obstacle, anyone interested?

We need people to build the obstacle, any volunteers?

I participated in the comp last year and it was heaps of fun! I also learned that trying to make a fire by rubbing sticks and striking flints is way old fashioned! All you need is a car battery, jumper cables, toilet paper and some dry grass. What you do then is, connect the one end of the jumpers to the battery and hold the other close to the toilet paper and dry grass... rub the positive to the negative and let the sparks fall on the kindle... voila! Fok, vuur!

Everyone who participated in the event last year had heaps of fun and no vehicles got damaged, remember the LR's, Ford's, Nissans and the Toys all have to be able to finish the obstacles...

It would really be great to see and experience a healthy participation by G owners and enthusiasts alike. Everyone is welcome and the aim of the day is to encourage and promote family and friendly participation and to get to know other clubs and brands better.

I urge and beg of everyone to support the G-club as best they can and to keep these dates open in your diaries.

More info will follow as soon as all the details have been given.

This event will be organised by the AAWDC, www.aawdc.org.za

Henry, I am interested but ... we need a lot more volunteers.
It is always difficult to get volunteers but maybe after the first one there might be more.

I've got two volunteers, myself and my mate Neels...

How about the newer guys on the forum? Would be a great way to get into the whole fraternity.

Just waiting for final detail from AAWCD but it will in all probability be held at the LA Sport quarry just outside Pretoria on Lynnwood Drive, same place as last year.

Ok, cool. Have left Salo a voice mail and they haven't posted anything on their website yet. I love Rust de Winter! They are well organized and have really well laid out trails. There shouldn't be too much work involved in building a G obstacle as most of them are permanent anyway. Can't wait!

Re: AAWDC Inter Club Day Competition

Yay! Confirmed by Salo, Inter Club Comp will be at Rust de Winter. It is going to be a weekend thing, the camp site is well organised and rigged. They always put in great effort to make competitions a success. I'm in, most of the Fundi participants will be in by the sound of things any one else?

The theme/goal for this years competition is to support the Jacaranda Save The Rhino campaign. Their goal is to collect R50k for the organisation. I will support them 100%! "Ahhhh! Rhino horn!"

Hope we can get two teams together so we gan go claim 1st and 2nd places!
