There was a chap Mr van Rooyen in Clanwilliam that had a few Haflingers - does anyone have his contact details?

    Hi,

In Barberton there is a Dr by the name of Justus Dirks who told me a few years that he had one.

At the time he also has a 240GD with a shot motor, which was being repaired.

He used to post on one of the other forums. Not sure if he migrated here along with the rest.

You can also send Waldi http://www.mb4x4.co.za/forum/member....Waldi-Nysschen a PM. They own 3 or 4 of them. See pictures here: http://www.mb4x4.co.za/forum/content...-2010-Feedback

    Re: Halfinger & Pinzgauer

Thanks for the replies, will order service manual (& parts book) from Haflinger Technik as suggested by Willem.

Here are some pics of progress so far; the vehicle was in running order, but I want it to be reliable so I stripped it down, cleaned & painted it, replaced seals & bearings, and am now re-assembling. Have found some parts diagrams which have been useful in putting things back together correctly.

    Nice project!

What engine capacity has the "Haflinger" 600cc two cylinders, air cooled?

I know the "supersonic speed" on tarred roads are about 80 km-hr, in about 60 minutes, with hurricane wind from behind , but out in the open off-road this vehicle is unbeatable!

I have not seen many for sale in SA, I got mine 'word of mouth' for R25k which was probably a bit much considering what I have had to do to it, as I later saw one for sale in great condition on gumtree for the same amount; there is also a 2009 thread on 4x4community co za about a haflinger bought for R35k and modified for hunting; search their site for 'steyr puch haflinger 4x4'.

Looks in Great original condition. Mine was obviously well restored quite some time ago, but has been used hard since and is far from original, but that suits me fine since I need a tough, reliable farm runabout.
