Should we not encourage the other members of the Steyr-Puch family, like the Haflinger and Pizgauer guys to participate here as well?

I dont know if they have "homes", but am aware that there is some spirited enthusiasts of these marques out there.

It would also be interesting to know how many of these we have in and around SA.

Good idea, I own a Pinz myself and know of only 9 other owners in South Africa. I thought of a forum, but we lack a critical mass, consequently the American Pinz forum: http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/index.php has been our "home" thus far. For information, I published a short two pager in WegRy magazine in July 2010 - numerous linkages exists with the G, so I cannot see a problem to be accommodated in this forum.

Hi, just found this forum, I am restoring a Haflinger of unknown vintage for use on our farm (sugarcane), wondered if anyone has a Workshop Manual for the Haflinger?

Also interested to know how many are still running in SA?

Buy yourself one at SAV (http://www.swissarmyvehicles.com/vehicles.php) or Haflinger Technic (http://www.haflingertechnik.com/html/index.php)
You will also need a parts catalogue.

Robert Young (Swellendam) is quite knowledgable RE the finer tricks of a Haffy (roberty[at]icon.co.za). Good luck with the restoration of the Haffy - you will find that it is a very simple vehicle to work on, but please shout if you need advice/ further contacts etc.
