    OM601, OM602 (OM622) and OM603 Injectors

    Hi All

I was wondering who of you have seen Lucas injectors on your engine (see above choices). I thought the injectors were always Bosch but it seem that some of the engines were also fitted with Lucas injectors.

I am looking for the replacement nozzle part number. Is this the correct number: BDN 0 SD 6867C ?

Seems that Delphi bought Lucas some time ago.

I have Bosch. There also seemed to be a descrepancy with torque figures for injectors. Some are 75N/m (majority) and other types may be 35N/m although not confirmed for sure. (just to confuse matters...)

Yes the injectors that are mounted at a 5deg offset get the 70-80Nm treatment. The older straight fit don't need to be bopad as tight.

from measurements and tests we did last night it appears that the Bosch Nozzles will work in the LUCAS Injector body. Further tests to follow including a field trials to confirm. This would be a great advantage as the Lucas nozzles are not currently stocked in SA and costs are double the Bosch ones.

I volenteer my injectors to be photographed with rebuild!
Found a few detailed rebuild postings mostly US with google search... Calibrating opening pressure could be tricky?

(I will do mine after my G is going. Collecting tomorrow, running or not. [at]$#vol waiting!)

    Re: OM601, OM602 (OM622) and OM603 Injectors

    Any news here?

I removed all my injectors to have them tested. Also found 4 of the 6 prechambers were loose but one was so loose it leaked diesel past which sprayed up.
    Anyway, injectors pop pressure tested: 3x 110 bar, 2x 120bar and 1x 125bar.
According to my manual they should be 135 +8 (not sure why a +8) and sould not differ by more than 5 bar.
Funny thing is the nozzle holder says 115 bar which is the pressure used by the OM602. the numbers are the same however.

Obviously the head had been rebuilt at some point. I wonder if the coorect injectors are fitted. Did you check what nozzles where in there?

    Unless you bought a 3.5 TD your injectors should be 115 + 8 not 135 + 8.

Hi Munga I got the specs from a doc you posted on superturbodiesels.com.
I do however see it is for a 603.792 and mine is a 603.931 not sure if it makes a difference.

Unfortunately I have no OM 603 manual with the correct specs (any specs) for the injectors in it.

Want to go and ick up the injectors but am no worried that they might be set too high.
