For the non mother speakers. Highlights include:

45hours rebuild a 280 motor and retuned to 180 HP (German HP).

Rust proofing the chassis with a specially developed German muti.

Removing the body from the chassis with 6 bolts and putting a new (read less rusty) one on. Going back to factory Sand Beige.

Full strip down and rebuilt to factory spec except uprated motor and bigger tires along with some tasteful interior appointments like a retro look Becker radio system with Bluetooth and Nav for eur2500. Also some nice ORC accessories.

Base car was a '79 280GE that did service in the Fire dept.

    First seen on P3.

I can't imagine what that job cost?! I guess 60-100k euro? I suppose a 300 prof costs ZAR800k so doesn't seem too bad!

Also meant to say that in the motor rebuild they used the sedan pistons to get a better compression and so higher HP. They also discussed why the orignal 280GE motor used a lower compression due to it being able to run on lower quality fuel.

new word I learned from the video - It was claimed that the G's are unkaputtbar ( spell? ) . The journalist obviously has never owned a G before.
