Anyone got one that still works please? Master cylinder not important.
Alternatively is anyone aware of a bolt on replacement?

I'm not sure but I think that the break booster on a Merc 126 works as well (in fact, it might work better because as I remember it, the booster is bigger!).
Maybe someone else on the forum can confirm that?
I know I've replaced the booster on my petrol G and it was much better! I'm actually planning on replacing the booster on my Diesel G with one of them!
Regards,
Arnold
Thanks Arnold - I'll go and check it out.
Have you come right Andrew? Boosters can also be repaired - had a W123 diesel booster repaired 10 years ago and its still going well
Peter
I took it to Wingate in JHB after the owner told me he could repair it but the guys on the counter told me with great authority that they could not.
I have two of them - one is the smaller rhd 460 unit with a locking clamp around it - the other is the big lhd one which is crimped shut.
I have opened the locking clamp type before to remove oil out of it but would not want to try anything more than that.
Is the 460 different to a normal car one that they cannot repair it , or can they not repair any Merc diaphragm. I would take it to Ferobrake / CBS and get a second opinion
Peter
Come right yet Andrew?
No. Apparently the fact that it s crimped shut and there are no diaphragms mean throw away. It is a pity as I have the big 460 one from a LHD which makes for nice brakes.
I still have not yet checked out the 126 route.
