It would be nice to determine the oldest G in South Africa - best way to verfiy it is using last 6 digits of the vin number as this number increases monotonically as each chassis leaves or enters the production line.
Anyone with a candidate vehicle ?

Anton, yours is obviously a PUCH Vin number - in fact the Puch numbers work slightly differently to the Merc Vin numbers in that there is a 9 in the sixth last digit. They were also serialized separately to the Merc badged vehicles.
Your Vin number was not recognized by the Merc EPC so I cannot give you a delivery date . ( BTW the EPC did recognize PUCH numbers in the past , they might have removed that capability now )

WDB46033327077078 - No delivery date for that one on EPCNET looks like about 1990 ( from order number ) . Also for interest its not a RSA dealer import

Not the oldest but my cab is 10688. I think it is Oct 1980. Either way it is without doubt the nicest G in the country. cough cough.
And I think Johan Roodt's cab is a digit away from mine - waar's jy Johan?
