Hi guys here is a picture of my incomplete system. Made from aluminum and plywood. It's designed to be one man removable.

Also removed my carpet so it doesn't get damaged and replaced with a cork underlay for that retro look!

Still waiting for my slides to complete my detachable fridge slide.

Did a sketch using Google sketchup and got the aluminum guys to cut to size. Only 400 Pop rivets later and you are done!

Hey that is exactly what I was going to do this december. Well done loks good. Do you mind sharing your drawings? I havent done any yet but already bought ally and the pluggable corners. I might want to do mine a little shallower but would be interested to see more photos.
As for the carpet I also plan to remove mine and possibly get those ally rail to which the system could be secured.

    After some sanding and varnish.

Ran out of pop rivets (again!) so the side boxes will have to wait to get their plywood tops and bottoms.

Alan I hope you have a decent machine saw as you need to get your cuts perfectly square to get a good final product.

Hi Munga thanks, yes I have a decent saw.
I am not intending using much wood though, trying to keep things light. I will also use angle ally for the runners. The drawers will be ally and the angle ally will get carpeting to make the slide nice and easy. As per Mr. Zimmy.

I also want to make the side boxes semi permanent and the centre part removeable.

I didn't get how you would get much slide distance without telescopic sliders?

I may have overspecced on mine at 180kg/pair. www.furnlock.co.za

They are heavy at over 10kg/pair. I have 2 pairs.

The wood is 12mm comm ply. Not a lot used only to box it up.

One thing to note is the rear door lining protrudes quite a bit so keep that in mind.

I can email you my sketchup file if you are keen? You will have to download Google Sketchup of you don't have it. It's free and very easy to use.

If you use the tie downs on the wheel arches you could do something permanent for the side boxes?

The trays are just 50x50 angle pop riveted to the sliders. No bottom. The boxes do that job.

The setup you have now is basically what I have in my 290. The two trays are used for two engel fridges.Jus everything is made from mild steel.

Is the frame built with square-tubing? If so, it looks as if you used connectors to join the pieces to build the frame. And if you did use connectors, can you please tell me where I can find them?

Thanks, I've been searching for a long time now, and it is quite hard to explain to people what it is, I don't know the name, so I always explained it with reference to how the old gazebos worked.
    Thanks very much!
