    Supercharger for a 352

I stumbled across a site today that deals with superchargers. It sounds much less complicated than a turbo.

My question is , will it work on my 416 with a standard 352 motor . I have heard that the OM 352 turbocharged version has all kinds of other modifications done to it. My questions might interest Mike who has done a lot of experimenting when he converted his 352 to a turbo.

It would be interesting to hear some comments.

    Greetings from

    Hi Loot,
I have done 5 Turbo Unimog conversions up to date and they are still

running with no complications this far my own are getting close to 30000k.

What i do find strange is that Mercedes have discontinued the C-Kompressor

and the new C-class now has a Turbo ????

Sounds like one of these days you'll have to drop the suspension on your mog to cope with the speeds you intend to drive

Mike is the guy to talk to - he has done quite a bit of research relating to superchargers vs turbos. I spoke to him about this at the Sabie event last year - I can't remember half the stuff he said as what he was talking about was at the limits of my technical knowledge
I do seem to recall though that, for a large enough super charger for the mog, you'll have to have quite a serious fanbelt to drive the thing. Apparantly space also becomes a problem, although I believe your cab would have a bit more space around the engine than a standard mog cab.

Please keep the thread updated with info that you learn - I'd like to learn with you...

    Cheers
    paul

It seems a limited number of 417 mogs came out with a supercharger. See http://www.benzworld.org/forums/unim...ercharger.html

As far as I can see the 417 also had a 352 engine, so maybe you can fit an OEM kompressor - that is if you can locate one?
