Can somebody give me a exhaust route diagram of the older G's like the one I have.

    Thanks

    PS:

I am starting to take the tank off now to see what is the problem although I know the best is to just move the exhaust I am for one or other reason determined to take it off and check Stupid me think!!

Personally I would take the tank off and look at all the pipes and connections. Try and figure out what is going on in there.

Another option is to ceramic coat the exhaust in that secion to minimise heat transfer in that area. Check out: http://www.powerkote.co.za/Home.html

I am not sure about all of this and am unsure if it is a gimmick or not. There was mention of it in the Leisure wheels a few issues back in one of the articles regarding underbonnet temperatures.

    Re: Boiling Petrol - Solution?

Was thinking perhaps you exhaust is made from Stainless Steel - this could result in higher temperatures. I have successfully used a silicon baking mat / pot holders ( not sure correct word ) to wrap around the exhaust where is passes close to my starter motor to reduce heat transfer to it. The silicon rubber seems to be able to be up to it and it has kept starter motor cooler. ( BTW later 300GD's had heat shields fitted here as there were issues with hot starter motors. )

Cant tell you off hand but I think once the tank is off it will be obvious.
One thing I can say is that they fit into the tunnel over the tank.

Remember to open the small hatch under the rear floor mat and disconnect any pipes/cables that might be short.
