Alan, count one more hiding under the tree!
Lorette and I are the ones in the only (problem child) SWB there...
This has been a real eye opener for me, I had no idea of the capabilities and would not have taken on such obstacles by myself, so thank you all for showing me the ropes!
Thanks everybody for stopping when the 240 lost power and coming to see whats happening! Beside the really dodgy throttle linkage (not the problem) I mistakenly thought my engine was serviced recently which it wasnt. So Darcy, you may have hit the problem on the button with your first guess being diesel filter.
I was also very surprised we made it up such inclines at about 500rpm above idle with an engine that is known to be underpowered, and as a result am rethinking putting the 230 petrol back and may instead go for the OM617 in the basement.
Rolf, to answer your question on the day: "Why did I buy it?" It was affordable, salvageable, and just had to have one after selling the previous problem child G..
After this weekend my girlfriend wants her own G!
Owe you all a beer!
Leonard
