Hare! Beitbridge is a f-up! Queues that will take 2 days unless you bribe R200 p/p on SA side and R1300.00 just to get into Zimboland incl another R200 p/p bribe. Welcome to Africa!

    Good Luck Henry,

Should you need a place to wait the rush out which should be by Monday give me a shout. I am just outside LTT on a farm.

    Regards

    Re: Malawi

    Bon Dias!
    The trip was OK...
Personally I think everyone should just buy themselves a Gelandewagen...
The trip was was f'n A+!!!!
Busy compiling all the pics and a trip report and will post it shortly. We never made it to Malawi sadly, decided to give it a pass for now. Everyone we met on their way down from Malawi told us to stay away.
Diesel, if you could find any, [at] R19/l at garages and R30/l on the black market. No jerry cans or containers are allowed unless you had a permit which could take up to 3 months to obtain from some or other interior ministry office. The overlanders we spoke to also said that the cops were extreme at check points and always on the prowl for bribes and scores.
Overall the trip was a massive success and I am extremely proud of old Buksa. Over 3400km and the only mechanical hassle I had was the driver side window would not wind up at Rio Savane, which I fixed in a jiffy with Q20.

Will share all as soon as I have compiled my report.
