Just to add some technical specs, the Awning is from "Fimma" made in Italy, it's very strong, uses a D aluminum section and is very versatile and easy to erect (one person). The Tent is motorized with a 12V motor and electronic sensors to control the opening and closing. The kitchen is an import from USA.in aluminum and has two very strong burners.

All the equipment and draws can be easily be removed to gain a full loading bay.

The cost? For some of you that are interested, Tent, Rack, Equipment (stove, water tank, gas etc.) Awning and interior I have spent up to now about R30K.

Thanks for sharing. With your experience you obviously knew what you wanted.

How do you enjoy the two 'barn' doors? I guess they work better than a single door, shielding your 'kitchen' on both sides. Are the not prone to more movement (than the single door) over uneven terrain or are they well latched? Will you consider a roll-out canopy over the rear as roof over the kitchen?

The "Barn-Doors" are what I wanted. 1st The spare wheel is not hinged or supported by the door, like in the single set-up. 2nd the access is simple and only one door can open and get access to the rear. 3rd the doors have the same hinging as the single just double, the door are lighter and well fasten top and bottom. No rattle or movement of the door is detected even on corrugated roads.

I have designed a light-material awning for the rear that will hook-up with the side awning, in case of a rainy-camping-day.

The only drawback is that the two single doors impede a bit the access to the side of the vehicle, and the right-hand door does not open as wide as the left-hand due to the spare wheel.
